BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND…
THE WORLDS BEST BEACH AND THE WORLDS BEST BAND UNITE AGAIN.

Due to the overwhelming public response, The Beach Boys are coming back to Cocoa Beach for another great beach concert.

That is exactly what the Cocoa Beach Pier has in store for the Space Coast during EASTER SURF WEEK and spring break this March 28, 2008.

The Beach Boys, one of the world’s most famous bands who have sold over 100 million albums, will perform all of their greatest hits at the home of East Coast surfing, The Cocoa Beach Pier.

A special concert stage will be erected on the beach so that all guests will have an excellent view. The gates to the concert area on the beach will open at 6pm and the concert will begin at 7pm. “We are really excited to be able to host this great event again with The Beach Boys. Many Cocoa Beach residents and out of town guests wrote to us saying how much they enjoyed the concert and how they wanted to see it again, so we said why not. To have The Beach Boys play a concert on the beach is so unique and so much fun that we wanted to make it happen again”, said Lori Stottler, General Manager of The Cocoa Beach Pier. A local band will open the evening from the main stage with some great sounds. The same band will keep the party going and entertain on the Pier after the concert is finished at around 9:30pm.

The Mayor of the City of Cocoa Beach, Skip Beeler and the City Commission, will be asked to issue a special City of Cocoa Beach Proclamation naming March 28, 2008 “Beach Boys Day” in Cocoa Beach. “The Beach Boys are a true American icon and we are thrilled to have one of the world’s most famous bands coming back to the home of East Coast Surfing - The Cocoa Beach Pier. This is a great event for our City and we wish we could host them every year” said Mayor Beeler.

The Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and are widely considered America’s finest and most important Rock and Roll Band. Rolling Stone Magazine voted The Beach Boys song “Good Vibrations” as the number one song of the century.

“The Beach Boys concert is a great way to bring our City together each year for a big party on our beach. I really look forward to the event and to help make it happen, I’ve got some new ideas for the stage this year that will really make it pop” said Wayne Coombs, owner of the Mai Tiki Gallery in Cocoa Beach and sponsor of the event. The Mai Tiki Gallery will again be creatively decorating the concert stage on the beach where The Beach Boys will perform.

The Cocoa Beach Pier has been the host to over 100 surfing contests and exhibitions during its 43-year life. The concert venue will be nestled on the south beach area next to the Pier and concert guests are encouraged to bring a beach blanket and enjoy the great sounds of 60’s, 70’s and 80’s of The Beach Boys. No chairs may be carried in for public safety reasons.

“The Beach Boys music is timeless and it always sounds good. The beach, the surf, the Pier, and The Beach Boys…what more do we need for an awesome beach party”, said Michelle Giers of Cocoa Beach.

The Beach Boys concert tickets go on sale starting October 1, at the Cocoa Beach Pier. Advance tickets are $29 for general admission and $60-$99 for VIP seats. Tickets purchased on the day of the show will be $5 more each.

For those wishing to eat dinner before the concert, the Pier has many restaurants to choose from. “The Atlantic Ocean Grill” and “Marlins Grill”, both located on the Pier, will be taking dinner reservations for the evening. Oh Shucks Seafood Bar and The Boardwalk Bar at the Pier will also be available for guests to enjoy a delicious dinner and drinks before the concert with The Beach Boys.
